Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to define the rules and regulations pertaining to enrollment into MA thesis and thesis research & planning courses at the Islamic Online University.

Policy Statement

Due to the heavy workload in MAIS Thesis 501 course, Thesis Research and Planning, this course can only be taken along with 3 other courses of the MAIS program in a given semester.

MAIS Thesis 502, the main thesis course must be taken on its own without any other courses along with it in a given semester.

Exceptions

Corollary 1: the exceptions to the rule of THS 501 are students undertaking the accelerated path (who will follow the fees structure of the accelerated plan accordingly), and the students currently (as of June 2016) enrolled in THS 501 course, and are due to graduate in Fall 2016 semester.

Corollary 2: the only exception of THS 502 rule is that if a student has only one course remaining, they will be allowed to complete that one course along with the Thesis (THS 502). More than one course along with Thesis will not be allowed.

This policy will provide scope to the students to concentrate on their theses work and distribute course load accordingly.
